We have updated the SL2.50 VCF files for the tomato 150 and 360 genome projects with corrected ref and alt alleles for scaffolds flipped in SL2.50. We would like to thank Tomasz Kurowski and Andreu Paytuvi for reporting this error. [Sep 6, 2016]

SGN server performance
Due to a hardware issue, the SGN server was operating slower than usual for the last couple of weeks. The issue has now been fixed, and performance should be back to normal. [April 7, 2016]
New WebApollo Installation for the tomato genome
Use the SGN Tomato WebApollo to edit the tomato gene models. This tool is based on JBrowse to make easy the gene model editing. If you are interested in fix any of the tomato gene models request the login credentials. You can login as a guest using sgn_guest and tomato as credentials [posted on Dec 8, 2015]

The Lippman lab working with the laboratory of Y. Eshed at the Weizmann Institute, Israel have developed indel molecular markers for mapping purposes using S. lycopersicum and S. pimpinellifolium as parents. The indels were identified based on the filtered alignments with chromosomal physical positions, indel size and flanking sequences (300bp). 9474 indels were predicted between S. lycopersicum cv. Heinz and S. pimpinellifolium: 5503 are S. pimpinellifolium insertions and 3971 are S. pimpinellifolium deletions

New Comparative Mapviewer Aug, 2004
A new comparative mapviewer is available on SGN that allows to compare all the maps that can be viewed with the traditional mapviewer, but in a comparative mode. The marker pages have also been updated and present all the information on one page.

New SNU2 pepper map Aug, 2004
A new pepper map, SNU2, is available on SGN. The map was submitted by Prof Kim of the Seoul National Univeristy in Korea.

Updated Physical Map Jun, 2004
A total of 11 Overgo Plates have now been loaded. Overall, 4,908 BAC's are now anchored to the F2.2000 genetic map. Additionally, we have added an Overgo Plate browser and an explanation page describing the Overgo Plating process.
