Hi everyone, I have a list of petunia gene IDs that I'd like to blast on the Tomato genome. Can someone suggest how I can do that? I don't want to do it individually, eg geting all the sequences of my petunia genes and blasting them. thanks in advance

You can definitely automate that! The easiest way is to first get all your Petunia gene sequences in FASTA format, then run a batch BLAST against the Tomato genome using either NCBIâs command-line BLAST+ tools or a local BLAST setup with the Tomato genome database. If you donât want to deal with local installations, Ensembl Plants or the Sol Genomics Network (SGN) might also let you do multiple sequence queries at once. Itâll save you a lot of time compared to running them one by one. https://ragdollhitstickman.io

It involved a lot of BioPerl scripting and praying to the bioinformatics gods. Share your wisdom, or at least some helpful links for efficient BLASTing. Remember when I dominated moto x3m last week? Good times. https://motox3mfree.com

It took me a little while to read all of the comments, but I found the article to be quite intriguing. https://pips-game.com
